Build in good company with Forest Glen.

Evanston Second Floor Addition

Hiring a contractor like the professionals at Forest Glen can introduce you to ways the space in your home can be reorganized to become more efficient. You might think adding a room, or moving a wall is an easy solution to your problem until you talk to someone who has worked on older homes for more than 30 years. Their expertise will tell you that the plumbing behind the wall you wanted to move would disrupt the plumbing in the entire house, costing you well over your budget - not including the extra room you had in mind.

This project in Evanston consisted of a second floor room addition expanding the master suite to include a master bathroom and walk in closet. A few structural issues came up once the project was underway, like a subtle but impactful change to the rear elevation. The second floor interior was dramatically reorganized with the expansion of the master suite, and as a result created a much better use of the space.

In Their Own Words:

"They were very transparent about timing and worked as diligently as they could to have the project wrapped up on time. In fact, it wrapped quicker than anticipated, which was wonderful!"
"Clearly they had lots of expertise dealing with remodeling of old homes. I felt that we were kept apprised of the progress of the overall project and that "challenges" that arose during the process of building in an old house were explained thoroughly and resolutions were good. I learned a lot from Joe and the various subcontractors."
